A Decade In Harmony - Mission
La Voce Choir's 10th anniversary concert “A Decade In Harmony” is one of the most
important events for La Voce in 2016 (throughout the year, we had also organised a number of choral outreach to teach choir singing to children in rural area). The concert intends to enlighten public to the meaning of choral music. By singing in a group, we can learn how to co-operate with each other to sing a wonderful piece with a harmonious voice. Apart from involving our existing members, ex-La Voce members will also be invited to perform together on stage for 10th anniversary celebration.
La Voce Choir encouraged Pei Yang School students to take part in choral singing with our entertaining performance of Wau Fantasy and Rhythm of Life.
A Decade In Harmony : Objective
The objective of the concert is to raise the profile of La Voce Choir to the public. Simultaneously, we also hope that the concert can bring music lovers together to enjoy the concert as we will be performing songs from famous composers both internationally and locally. We aim to spread joy through this concert as singing is an enjoyable hobby (yes, this includes bathroom singers and car singers as well).
Singing is definitely a hobby for Twinnce, our soprano singer.
A Decade In Harmony : Concert Introduction
For the first half of the concert, we will be performing songs from composers
such as Morten Lauridsen, Edward Elgar and Ola Gjeilo. Some of the songs
that will be performed are Dirait-on, Sing a Song of Sixpence, The Snow,
Northern Lights, Salve Regina and Rhythm of Life. La Voce Choir will also
perform Chinese songs from some famous composers.
Casper, our tenor, leading our choristers in rehearsing "O Salutaris Hostia".
For the 2nd half of the concert, La Voce members will perform a musical drama with songs specifically composed by Malaysia’s famous composer, Chow Jun Yi. The story takes place in a fishing village revolving around youngsters’ longing for love, the frustration of reality, regret over letting go and the desire for everlasting perfection of one’s image in the beholder’s eyes. Performers will act and sing throughout the musical drama.
Ryne, our fair alto, will be playing Mika in our musical "When The Sea Murmured".

La Voce Choir : Introduction
Persatuan Koir La Voce (La Voce Choir) was founded in April 2006 by 30 teenage
choristers who wished to continue their love for choral singing after graduating from
secondary school. The choir had gone through 10 years with full experience in
concerts, caroling, and performances in numerous international events and went to
plenty of countries such as China, Japan, and Korea to participate in various
competitions.
La Voce Choir performed Lenggang Kangkung in Japan.
The Choir represents Malaysia regularly in choral competitions and festivals, having attained a Gold Diploma Level IV in Folklore category during World Choir Games 2010 and was chosen as the sole representative from Malaysia to participate in the 2012 Busan Choral Festival and Competition organized by Korea Choral Institute. In 2014, La Voce was invited by Hamamatsu Cultural Foundation as one of the 5 international performing groups to participate in the 5-yearly Hamamatsu World Youth Music Festival, where the Choir performed to critical acclaim from both Japanese and international audiences.
Here we are, winning Gold Award level IV at the 6th World Choir Games in China!
Throughout its 9 years of history, the Choir has held regular public performances
primarily in Klang Valley, combining the choir’s versatile voice with creative
presentation methods to present choral music to a wider audience. The Choir
presented Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” using black light in "The Mermaids'
Voices", as well as having produced a family-friendly original stage musical “Once
Upon A Time” in 2014, both were well-received by members of the audience and
media. In 2013, the Choir launched a collaboration concert with Johor Bahru
Chamber Choir in "Snowy Breeze of the Starry Night", developing closer musical
bonds with fellow members of the Malaysian choir community. The Choir also
makes yearly Christmas Caroling appearances in various major shopping malls in
Klang Valley.
